In just three months, we're due to see this precious face in person. It was actually three months to the day yesterday. Are we ready? I don't know. Are we eager? Definitely. The closer we get, the more excited I am to hold my son in my arms instead of my belly. These feelings are often most intense when Lily curls up next to me and hugs, kisses, or talks to my growing middle. She often asks, "What's he doing, mama?" or "What's he thinking?"
Perhaps he thinks of or at least hears us say his name, which is almost certain to be Corin Matthew Rerecich. That's the name Lily would proudly tell you if you could ask her in person. Corin, pronounced 'core-inn,' is a very old English name that I found while reading both for pleasure and study many years ago. Matthew needs little explanation, though it has some all the same. Using Matt's name is a way to honor both his family and mine since the name comes to us from his parents, and my brother's middle name is my father's chosen first name. But what really cemented it was little Corin's face. Just look at it! Can't you see Matt?
